Every effort has been made to make my home fully accessible to all the Daycare Children.
Child friendly, safe and stimulating environment. Every precaution has been taken to ensure that the home is child proofed. e.g..
Locks on cupboards and drawers, outlet covers on electrical sockets, gates and sturdy furniture.
Outdoor play area: A large back yard with a wide variety of playground toys and equipment.
All chemicals and cleaners are out of reach.
Each child has their own bedding, which is washed weekly.
Toys are washed and disinfected frequently.
Children’s playroom is equipped, with a variety of toys and learning materials for all ages.
Children will be educated on reading, writing and math skills on daily basis.
Quiet areas for older children who are too old to nap, but still need rest.
Quiet activities are provided, such as reading, puzzles movies and worksheets.
The foundation of our discipline policy is self-respect and respect for others. The rules will be explained to the children to the best of their understanding. I use positive discipline techniques, encouragement and redirection to curb undesired behavior. When only absolutely necessary, I use a time out. Time out consists of a short “time away” from the others so that the child can focus on what he would like to do better next time. This is not used as a punishment, but rather as a “cooling down” time. Children as young as 15 months will be given time-outs for certain behaviors. Biting, hitting, slapping, screaming, kicking and other forms of violent behavior will NOT be tolerated. Continuous, difficult behavior will be grounds for termination
